CLI, manufacturer of world class thin client devices has added the 64-bit Linux operating system as yet another option to its existing Win10 IoT Enterprise, 32-bit Linux (LX3) and Android operating systems. CLI LX64 Linux is based off of the Ubuntu 18.04 release and includes some purpose built features like KIOSK mode and Write Protection that our end-users have come to expect from CLI.
CLI chose Ubuntu because of its robust features allowing users flexibility when adding peripherals such as printers, credit/debit pin pads, barcode scanners, sound bars, etc. With this flexibility, users can configure a LX64 based device at a lower cost than a MS Windows thin client.
Along with software such as CLI’s TermPro emulation Suite, Citrix Workspace, VMware Horizon View and RDS clients, other third party software applications are easily added using the Synaptic Package Manager. Using this flexibility, users have already added the SonicWall® NetExtender Client (as shown in the photo) configured with a Wi-Fi thin client for a secure work-at-home use case.
CLI’s Free Device Manager Software completes the package delivering easy to use remote management capabilities. CLI’s LX64 Linux has been certified by SOTI for use with its MobiControl Enterprise mobility management (EMM) software.
